This morning during Jesus time we were able to Skype with one of the leaders from the school in India where our chapel offerings went to last trimester.  We were able to pray with him and ask questions.  Praise God for the ability to share the good news about His son Jesus who died on the cross and rose again to save us!

Thank you Mr. Anderson for reading to us in the library!

Outside time

The friends were debating whether they found carrots on the playground or not.  We decided to take them inside to investigate further.  We capitalize on student interest and use it to scaffold their learning!

Free choice time

Counting out buttons

"Look at the geese outside!"

"They look like birds!"

"But birds are smaller than geese."

Conversations like these allow the children the opportunity to apply their knowledge.  In the conversation above, the children showed that they understand concepts including comparison words. (Bigger and smaller)

Writing his own book!

Thank you Mrs. Mourer who helped in the classroom today while Mrs. Zwettler was gone!

"We are writing our own morning message."

The friends have the creative idea to make colored yarn by painting it.  Great problem solving!

"Is it a carrot yes or no" graph

Collecting information for the graph

"I am drawing a bird like the small one I saw outside."

Exploring ramps

Puzzles increase spatial relationship skills which are foundational math skills!

"Hang on - I think you have a flat tire."

Look how we show God's love to each other!

Second outside time

Second free choice time

Counting the lines on the rock

"I wrote a morning message too!"

Hard at work at the creation station

Exploring the alphabet

During small group time we practiced counting and number recognition.

We practiced writing with Mrs. Prahlow!

(Mrs. Prahlow helped out in our classroom this afternoon for Mrs. Lipsey. :) Thank you Mrs. Prahlow!)

We explored the pattern blocks.

We created in the blocks with Mrs. Andrews.

(Mrs. Andrews helped in our classroom this afternoon for Mrs. Helmkamp.  Thank you Mrs. Andrews!)
