During Jesus time we reviewed the story of Jesus visiting Mary and Martha.  We remembered that it is better to listen to Jesus than to become distracted by things.  We sang a song to remind us that no matter what life brings, our hope is in the Lord!

During small group time we practiced writing with the write and wipe boards.  We observed the words in the books, looked for punctuation, and looked for the spaces in between the words.

Independently, the friends practiced patterning.

With me, the friends webbed what we have learned so far about cars and community helpers!

Strengthening our core muscles in the gym

Free play in the gym allows the friends to practice body awareness and helps them learn how to navigate spaces.

Free choice time

Sorting the keys

Providing everyday objects for the friends to explore helps deepen sorting skills and enrich discussions.

"I'm choosing all the ones with triangles."

"I am choosing all of the ones with three triangles."

The friends are learning persistence each day.  It is important for children, and adults, to know how to keep going when things "get tough."

"Let's try it again!"

Morning meeting

Sometimes we do silly things in morning meeting.  Today, we practiced our letters in a squeaky voice.  :)

Free choice time

We love to write!

Puzzles increase spatial relationship skills.

Wondering at the wonder window

During small group time we continued to practice number recognition, counting, and ordering from 1-10.

We practiced writing with Mrs. Zwettler.

We worked on a large floor puzzle together too.

With Mrs. Helmkamp the friends problem solved to create their own marble run with tubes and magnets.
