Tuesday, August 25

This morning we read a book called Imogene's Antlers.  In this book a girl grows antlers!  There was a word in the book that we did not understand: faint.  We discussed what we thought the word meant, and then we used the picture clues to help us understand the word means.  Books are so great for so many reasons!  We are learning new vocabulary through books and we are also learning to love reading!

Playground work

As some friends played on the hill with me, other friends rode bikes on the basketball court with Mrs. Fritcha.

Outdoor classroom work

"See?  Mix it together and it makes a yummy recipe!"

Writing books

Using the number line to help us count and compare numbers

Wow!  Look at our creation!  The friends worked hard!

After lunch we did small groups outside the classroom.

Some friends chose to read books

Some chose to play cooperatively with the bugs

Other friends chose to write

Our nature walk was shorter today due to the heat.  We are so curious to see if the berries on the tree will change colors!
