8/18/2020

As I mentioned yesterday, we are focusing on learning the routines of school.  Today and for the next coming week or two we will be primarily focusing on learning the routines of school.  This sets our school year up for success and helps your children know exactly what to expect for the entire year.  This alleviates stress on your children's brains and allows them to focus on other things - such as learning! :)

As we learn our new routines,  I am also learning how to best incorporate our new safety measures.  I want to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident with your child in our care, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me at any point with any question or concern.

This morning we read a book called They All Saw Cat.  This book has a repetitive and predictable text that allows the children to participate in the reading of the story.  As you read books at home with your child, I would encourage you to include a few books that have a repetitive and predictable text.

The rain gave us an opportunity to explore our classroom!  The friends had fun learning the different items we have in our class and playing with their friends.  We learned how to care for the items in our class and clean them up too!

We then enjoyed snack time and a walk outside!  The rain held up for a bit so that we were able to run on the sidewalk.  While we were outside, I reminded the friends how much Jesus loves them.  We sang "Jesus Loves Me" and "Jesus in the Morning."  We then told our friends that Jesus loves them too!  He loves us so much that He died on the cross  and rose again to save us!

Then it was time for lunch!  After lunch we went for our daily nature walk.  We checked on the things we observed yesterday to see if we noticed any changes.  We also noticed that we could hear an airplane in the sky, but we couldn't see it! We wondered how that could be.

"Maybe those big clouds are in the way!"

Other friends noticed water in the woods. One friend asked, "Where did that water come from?"

Another friend responded, "The rain!"

After rest time we explored in the outdoor classroom!
