Friday, August 28th

I can't believe we have been through two weeks of school!

Our friends know our classroom routines very well now!

After our morning meeting, we went right to the playground.  The engaged in a rich play scenario together.  In this play scenario the friend exhibited executive function skills, language development, and strengthened their relationships with each other.

We then went to the hill to explore!

On the hill the friends explored the balls on the ramp.

"This one goes so fast!"

"Why is it getting stuck on the bottom?"

It started sprinkling on the hill.  We stayed outside in while it was sprinkling.  It did not rain for very long or very hard so we stayed outside, and the friends had had fun experiencing the light rain!

After snack we played a game called Doggy Doggy Where's Your Bone?  This game helps us remember the friends' names!

One of the friends brought a large moth to share with everyone!  We had so many questions about the moth and this began a rich discourse about moths.

"Do moths sting?"

"Are months butterflies?"

"Are moths bugs?"

Outdoor classroom work

While in the outdoor classroom we noticed two moths!  The friends came over to observe.

After lunch the friends practiced writing their names during small groups.

We then observed the berries and the thorn bush during our nature walk!

We found a huge thorn tree!
