Happy Monday!

Praise God for the beautiful weather today!  The friends were excited to go outside and play.

While we are outside we are not only exercising our large motor group, but we are also learning cooperation, collaboration, and developing relationships with one another.

The friends were excited to see if there was ice in the outdoor classroom.

"The ice melted!"

Small group time

During small group time we practiced using non-standard units of measurement to see the length of various items.  The friends counted to see how many blocks long the item was.  Then, they wrote down the number.

The friends worked with Mrs. Dieckamp to make some words about ice.  This increases our letter recognition and exposes us to other words that are meaningful to us!

The friends also shared what they know about ice.  This engages our prior knowledge, exposes any misconceptions, and also provides insight to how our ice study might develop.

During free choice time, Snow Park was busy!

"Go in the snow tunnel!"

Snow angels!

"Let's make a sled!"

Some of the friends used what we have learned in the books we have read to help make the sled.

We then used good junk to see if we could make snowmen for Snow Park.

Look at our collaboration as we make sleds!

During Jesus time we learned the true story of Jesus feeding the 5,000.  We learned the Bible words, "O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!" Psalm 107:1
