During chapel Mr. Marquardt shared with us that baptism is special because of the Word of the Lord. We are redeemed children of God!

After chapel we went to the kindergarten room to practice our song for singing in church on Sunday, January 21st at 10:30.  (If you have not completed the form indicating your child's availability to sing that was sent home on Friday, please do so.  Thank you!)

Dance party in the gym!

During free choice time the friends wanted to add a car wash to the car dramatic play, so we did!

We wrote a sign for the door and for the dramatic play.  The friends chose to write "Car Wash and Car Fixing Shop."

We then hung streamers for our pretend car wash.

The friends worked so that the pieces that we hung were equal.  They also strengthened their fine motor skills as they ripped the Crete paper!

These mechanics are fixing the cars!

Exploring marbles and ramps

Matchbox cars

We extended the car play with some various buildings that are found in the community.

Some of the friends wanted to work on painting the cars.

Welcome to the Shop!

During morning meeting we reviewed what a title of a book does.  (It gives us a clue to what the book is about.). We read Puppies in the Snow.   Before reading, we predicted what the book is about based on the title and cover.  After we read the book, the friends discussed what happened in the book.  This indicates story comprehension.  I encourage you to do this when you read at home too!

Sadly, I did not take any pictures during second gym time today.  However, we had a very fun dance party with our chapel buddies!

During second small group time we practiced patterning.

We practiced counting, number recognition, and counting as we made snowman soup.

We explored the science items.

We painted signs for the dramatic play.
