You are invited to Nora's baptism this Sunday, December 4th at the 9:30 service!  If you can, please plan to come celebrate this exciting day!

Free choice time

"I am taller than the tower!"

Owen made letters with the links!

As you look at the pictures you might be thinking, "Mrs. Douglas is crazy to let the children use glitter on their own."

As I have said before, there is a method to the madness.  :)  This glitter provides the children opportunities to practice responsible behavior including cleaning up their own messes, shaking off excess glitter to save for others, and learning to work together.  Not to mention all of the fine motor growth that is involved in all of that.

(Plus, I really love glitter.  :) )

These friends are exhibiting responsible behavior by cleaning up the glitter on the floor.

Kennedy's grandma was our Library volunteer today!  Thank you "Grandma" for reading to us!

After library we sang a few of our favorite guitar songs.

Please be sure to bring your child a heavy winter coat as well as a hat and gloves.  We will go outside as much as possible throughout the winter.  Thank you!

After snack we were unable to go to the gym due to the preparations for Advent Tea tomorrow, so we danced to some actions song on the screen with the preschool!  These songs increase listening skills, self-regulation, as well as get our bodies moving!  :)

We then did something really fun; we opened up both the Pre-K and Preschool classroom.  The children were allowed to use the adjoining bathroom to move to the room of their choice (as long as they okay'd it with the teacher in the room first.)

The friends had so much fun exploring in a different room!

During small group time we continued our pattern exploration as we explored patterns in music!
(Slap, clap, slap, clap)

We also wrote the Christmas words in our journals.

Finally, the completed our Advent wreaths!

(Half day friends yours will be sent home Monday.  They weren't quite dry yet at the end of the half day.)

During Jesus time we learned a song about Advent: Light One Candle.  Each week we light another candle as we wait the celebration of Jesus' birth!

We also acted out the story of the angel visiting Mary and Joseph to tell them that a Savior would be born!

Indoor recess!

The friends taught Mrs. Lipsey how to pattern!

With me the friends put their nativity scene together!
