Our friend Nora, along with her sister, is getting baptized here at Our Shepherd on Sunday at the 9:30 service.  You are invited to attend with your children to celebrate this exciting day!

Please read this note from the PTL:

Christmas Shop Helpers Needed

The Secret Santa Shop will be coming to Our Shepherd on December 6-8.  Helpers are needed to assist the students while they shop.  Please find a time to come in and help.  You can use this link to sign up for a shift.  Thank you!!

One more announcement.  Please be sure to send a labeled hat, gloves, and coat with your child every day.  It is our goal go outside as much as the weather will allow.  Thank you for your help!

Now on to the Pre-K fun from today!

The friends love making ornaments for our Christmas tree!  The tree might not look like it belongs in a department store, but it reflects the hard work of the children.  This allows the children to take pride and ownership of their work.  It allows children to build confidence as well!  Who knew decorating a Christmas tree could provide so many learning opportunities?!  That is the beauty of early childhood education; every experience can be a learning experience!

Legos allow the children to engage in creative thinking as well as strengthen their fine motor skills.  Not to mention, the lego area provides many opportunities to practice conflict resolution with each other!

Morning meeting is also a time for the friends to share stories, ideas, and ask questions.  This is a great time to engage in and develop expressive vocabulary.  It also gives us a clue as to the children's interests and questions.

Some of the thoughts from today include:

"I love God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit."

"Is Christmas coming soon?"

"I like when we sing guitar songs."

We also read this book during morning meeting!

In the gym we worked together on a relay!

After, we practiced throwing and catching with a partner.

Then it was time to just run and play!

During small group time, we worked on the base for our Advent wreaths.

We put our pattern learning this week to use as we made pattern candy canes.

We also practiced with the letters and Christmas words!

During Jesus time, we reviewed the story of the angel visiting Mary and Joseph to tell them that Jesus would be born!  Jesus was born to die on the cross and rise again for us!

Indoor recess today!

During small group time we drew pictures of shepherds for our nativity scene.

We continued to work with the Christmas words.

We also worked more with patterns!
