Welcome back!  I pray that you enjoyed the extra long weekend!

This morning we started our day running and playing in the gym.  After our morning routines, we had a visit from Pastor Matt!  Pastor Matt explained to us about Ash Wednesday (today).  It is the beginning of Lent.  We put ashes on our head to remind us that someday we will die, but because of Jesus death and resurrection we will have eternal life with Him in haven.

We then decided to put the ashes either on our head or our hand.  Tomorrow in chapel we will have ashes the official imposition of ashes as a part of our chapel service.

After snack it was time to get to work!

"Remember when we learned about butterflies?"

"I'm going to make some coffee for you Mrs. Douglas!"

Working in the blocks

"I need to add more words and illustrations!"

"How does this puzzle work?"

Some of the friends made snowflakes for our creek because "It's all frozen out there! We need to make it all frozen in here!"

The friends explored the letters too.

God created all of the friends unique!  Success for each individual friend is unique as well.  Success for some friends is identifying the letter as they explore.  Success for some friends is matching upper and lower case letters.  Success for some friends is making the sounds of the letters.  Success for some friends is grouping the letters to form words.  Success for some friends is using the sounds of the letters to make words.  No one is more important than the other as all are indicators that the friends are learning and progressing in their reading skills.
