Thank you for the many Christmas decor donations!

This morning we used our instruments to sing along to Christmas songs.  We remembered that vibrations make sounds! We discussed the tempo of the music too.

We then went outside.  We will go outside everyday unless it is too cold as determined by the child care weather watch.  You can check it out here.  Keep sending in those hats and gloves.  :)

We noticed the ground was frozen today!

We stopped to observe the ice.  We noticed many things!

"Well ice is frozen water."

"Why is that water not frozen?"

"Look at the bubbles from the water!"

We discussed how you never walk on a frozen puddle, lake, or pond.

We then took a minute to run on the field!

The friends wanted to see if the pond was frozen, so we walked over to the pond.  We discussed that we have to be very safe near the pond and walk in our line.

We then took a minute to thank and praise God for all of our outdoor spaces here at Our Shepherd!  I snapped some pictures of the beauty to share with you too!

"It's a bird hotel!"

"How many birds fit in there?"

We noticed that one side of the pond was frozen and the other side was not!

"I see the ice right there!"

"Will the geese break the ice?"

Back in the classroom we read this fun book filled with rhyming words.

Free choice work time was filled with activity.

Some friends used big boxes to make a part of Christmas town.

"These are my Christmas town instructions."

"This one sounds like the rain!"

The friends wanted to make more signs for Christmas town, so we did!

"I am making this card for my mom."

"I am sorting out the little baby ones."

"This goes on the tree."

We use our alphabet book as a reference when we write.

After lunch we checked on the puddles.  They were melted!

"The sun melted them!"

We then went to the playground to play.
