This morning we practiced our song for Sunday with all of our friends!

Please plan to drop your child off in our classroom at 10:15.  Thanks!

After we practiced our song we learned the story of Jesus healing the blind man!  Jesus has healed us too!  He healed us from our sin sickness.  Praise God for forgiveness!

Gym time!

After snack we sang silly songs with the friends from Camp Lakeview and learned about the good things God is doing there.  Information about Camp Lakeview will be sent home Friday in your child's folder.

Back in the classroom our visiting expert, Mr. Shoemaker,  helped us learn more about houses!  He answered many of our questions and even prompted more questions for further exploration.

You will find a pair of safety goggles in your child's backpack from Mr. Shoemaker.  The friends were so excited for them!  Be sure to ask your child what the safety goggles are used for and why the workers use them.

We learned the following vocabulary too!  See if you can incorporate these words in your conversations at home to further expand your child's vocabulary.

blueprints
frame
foundation
concrete
siding
table saw
circular saw
hand saw
drywall

Thank you Mr. Shoemaker!

During free choice time we were all excited to sign up to explore the new house. This was a great time to incorporate meaningful writing practice into our play.

Some of the friends worked on the challenge: Can you build a house? This was a good time to use some of the vocabulary we learned from Mr. Shoemaker!

"Can you make this recipe?"

"What are the ingredients?"

"I think cake.  I see a C. Cake starts with C."

Setting the table for friends increases one to one correspondence as the friends put one utensil per person.

"I am making a foundation first."

"How tall are you?"

The friends who were building remembered what Mr. Shoemaker said about wearing safety goggles.

"Stay safe while building!"
