Welcome back!
This morning we took turns sharing about what we did over Fall Break. It was fun to hear about all of the adventures!
Praise God for the sun on this chilly!
The friends started giving concerts for each other outside. Each song was about Jesus! It is such an honor to be able to see their faith develop!
We noticed a big branch had fallen in the outdoor classroom. We discussed why it happened.
"Maybe it was the thunder and rain."
"Yeah! Like the wind probably broke it and blew it down."
Balancing on logs
During small group time the friends practiced using scissors as they cut out their own pumpkin to make a jack-o-lantern.
The friends also practiced the Five Little Pumpkins poem with the words and magnetic board to act it out. (This poem increases number concepts, rhyming, and rhythm.)
Ask your child to recite it to you tonight.
We also observed what we noticed about a pumpkin. Then, we ordered numbers 1-12 to increase number recognition, counting, and one to one correspondence.
Free choice time
I challenged the friends to balance apples and gourds. They persisted even when it was tricky!
We explored sinking and floating too.
The friends painted with the corn cobs too!
We continued to strengthened our fine motor skills by pulling corn off of the ear.
