Happy Birthday Robmade!  We are so thankful that you are in our class!

This morning we reviewed the story of Joseph.  Joseph had some tough times in his life, but God never left him! God never leaves us either!  Even when we think things are very hard, God is always with us.  He has given us the best gift ever - the gift of salvation!

This morning we enjoyed time in the gym.

We began with stretching and then played a freeze dance game.  Freeze dancing helps strengthen self-regulation skills.  Self regulation is an important life skill that will benefit the children throughout their lives.

We then enjoyed free play in the gym.

The friends were so excited to observe the praying mantis that one of our friends brought in! We have been praying that we could catch a praying mantis to observe.

We wondered if the praying mantis would eat a stink bug?

During small group time we each took a turn to vote whether or note the paying mantis would each the stink bug.

After we voted, we observed the praying mantis closely and drew what we saw.

We practiced letter formation, recognition, and letter sounds with Mrs. Dohrman as we wrote in beads!.

The friends also looked for any pictures or information about the praying mantis.

During free choice time the friends strengthened fine motor skills by lacing beads on pipe cleaners.

They built in the blocks together.

They also made begs in the bug hotel.

We moved the praying mantis to a different container so we could see his details.

During morning meeting we took some time to practice working through conflicts with our friends.  It is important for children (and adults) to be prepared to handle various social situations.  Practice makes permanent!

We spent second free choice watching the praying mantis and waiting to see if it would eat the sink bug.  The friends decided to add two beetles and a grasshopper in the cage to see if it would eat those.
