During Jesus time today we learned the true story of when God parted the Red Sea for the Israelites.  With God, anything is possible!

Outside time

During small group time we continue to practice phonemic awareness and print concepts as we recited the Five Little Pumpkins finger play together.

The friends also worked to build a tower that is taller than the pumpkin.  We used comparative vocabulary ("My tower is smaller than the pumpkin.  Yours is taller than the pumpkin.").  We also problem solved and persevered when the towers fell over.

With Mrs. Dohrman we worked on our Jack-o-lanterns.

Free choice time

The friends explored sinking and floating concepts.

We documented with an F (float) or S (sink) to show what the item did in the water.  At home, you can work on labeling pictures with your child.  For example, if your child draws a house, talk to them about the letter that they hear in house (H), then have them write the H.  Model lacing for your child as you write grocery lists, notes, etc.

They also balanced apples and gourds. We incorporated labeling here too!
