Happy Friday!

Happy Birthday Caleb!  We are so thankful that God brought you here to Our Shepherd!

We began our day reading a book on CD about the story of Jesus birth!

(My apologies for the dark picture.)

We then danced to some fun songs!

Thank you Mrs. Teague and Mr. Anderson for your help in the library!

After library we practiced the Christmas concert in the chapel.  We discussed how when we walk in for the Christmas concert we will see mom, dad, sisters, brothers, etc., but we don't need to be upset because we are strong and brave.  Please talk to your child at home as well about this to prepare him/her. Thank you!

Gym time!

We played some fun relays!

Then we ran laps!

Free choice time

During clean up time we had a few issues pulling things away from each other.  We role played this during morning meeting.  We discussed why it is a bad choice and what we can do differently to solve the problem.

I encourage you to role play at home with your child what he/she can do when issues like these arise.

Some of the options we discussed include:

Stop and walk away

Put the item down and talk

Tell the friend how you are feeling in calm words

Ask a teacher for help

Ask a friend for help

Second outside time

During second small group time we worked on the top secret project. :)

Second free choice time

At the end of the day we went to a recycling assembly.  Mrs. Lepley, the third grade teacher, and her class from last year worked to write a grant so that our school can recycle more than just paper. Praise God for the opportunity to take better care of the earth!
