Welcome back for our second round celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week!

We began our day with a sing-a-long with Mr. Marquardt and Pastor Kyle.

I have noticed that the friends need extra support as they navigate their roles in their "family" game.  Specifically, we have had discussions about how many "moms" can be in the game and finding ways for all of the friends to participate.

Another discussion we have had is about handling disagreements with friends in a Christ-like way.  This is an important skill for all children (and adults) to practice.  We role played many scenarios this morning during morning meeting and worked together to write some visual reminders for us.

We then went to work!

Some of the friends chose to match our number clips.  Matching numbers increases our visual discrimination skills and encourages the friends to explore number names in a playful way.

Sorting and ordering our shapes increases measurement skills as well as spatial reasoning and shape recgnition!

"What number is it at?"

"Let's write the number so we don't forget!"

The friends practiced asking for turns with blocks and sharing the blocks.  They also used their spatial reasoning skills and problem solving to build!

"We need two triangles to make a big one!"

The friends also wrote signs for our classroom and expressed themselves by writing stories.

During Jesus time we learned the true story of Zaccheaus.  We learned that we are all sinners in need of a Savior.  God sent Jesus to be our Savior!  His death and resurrection washes us from all of our sins!
