This morning Mr. Kyle Borcherding, our worship director and vicar, led us in chapel.  He shared with us that Jesus is the light of the world!

Exploring outside

"Where are the muddy puddles?  It was rainy."

During small group time, we continued to explore spatial relationships and shapes.  The friends are working to identify shapes as well as their attributes.  (A triangle has three sides.  A square has four sides.)

During free choice time we are practicing how to solve conflicts with our friends.  Some of the phrases we use in school include:

"How many minutes until my turn?"

"Can I have a turn when you are done?"

"You can have a turn in two minutes."

I encourage you to role play at home with your children.  Ask your child(ren),

"What can you say if someone tries to take something from you?"

"What if you want something that someone else has?  What can you do?"

Today we played a shape game to help us identify shapes and their attributes.  We looked for shapes in our classroom environment too!

Look what we found!  A circle and a triangle!  I encourage you to help your child(ren) notice shapes in every day items.  For example,

"Your pillow is a rectangle!"

"Do you see any triangles in our roof?"

After rest time, we went on a shape hunt around the school!

"It's a rectangle!"

We ran into Mrs. Cronauer, our kindergarten teacher here.  She helped us find more shapes too!

Back in the classroom each friend took a turn drawing a shape on the white board.
