While the time change can be a hassle, it also provides us with a new, beautiful backdrop for our mornings.  We are able to see the sunrise while on the playground!  The friends noticed the frost as well and had fun drawing in it.  :)

During small group time we continued to work in our groups to create cabinets and stairs for the house.  The friends say we need another set of stairs for the other side of the house. :)

During small group time we explored letters and their sounds.  Every child is unique and therefore success for each child is unique.  Success for some children is identifying the shapes in the letters. ("This letter has lines but no curves!") Success for some children is identifying the letter. ("This is the letter P.") Success for some children is identifying the sound the letters make.  Success for some children is putting the sounds of the letters together to make words.

During free choice time, some of the friends continued to work on the stairs and cabinets.

Building together increases opportunities for communication, problem solving, and practicing important social skills.

Our fiends love to write! I encourage you to have writing supplies readily available at your house.  Read more about early childhood writing experiences HERE.

During Jesus time we learned about tax collectors in the Bible.  We learned that they were not very kind.  They stole and lied.  Jesus asked one of the tax collectors,  named Zaccheaus, to eat lunch together.  Jesus came to save sinners!  Because of Jesus Christ, we have the gift of salvation through His death and resurrection!
