This morning in chapel we celebrated July and August baptism birthdays!

Happy Baptismal Birthday Dominick and Leighton!

After chapel and morning meeting we went outside.  We saw so many spiders and webs!  The friends were so excited to find them!

We had fun playing with the preschool friends on the playground!

During small group time we played the rhyming game again with Mrs. Zwettler.  We often do the same activities multiple times to allow for practice and to scaffold (extend and deepen) the children's learning.

We observed another new spider in the spider center.  The children told me everything that they know about spiders.  I wrote down what they knew, and we will use these to compare to what they know at the end of the Project.  It will be fun to see how it changes over the course of the next few weeks!

Finally, we added on to our creations at the creation station.

After lunch/goodbye and quiet time, we enjoyed the nice weather outside.  (We are thankful that the storms held off!)

All of the friends wanted to play Duck, Duck, Goose outside!

Back in the classroom, we planned our play before free choice time.

During small group time, we played Hi, Ho, Cherry-O with Mrs. Lipsey.  As we played the game, we practiced counting and one to one correspondence.

We also took some time to read during small group time.

Finally, we played a roll and rhyme game.  We had fun rolling a glue stick to each other and rhyming all of the words we could.

I look forward to another great day tomorrow!
