The friends are working hard to write their names when they come to school.  I am so proud of their hard work!

I wanted to show you some of our collaborative art pieces.  This is our Show God's Love piece. :)

The friends practiced problem solving and resolving conflicts together as they created.

Ms. Jen, Olivia's mom, volunteered in our classroom this morning!

Block play helps children understand spatial relationships as well as other foundational math skills.

We will print off this picture and hang it in the blocks for the children to recreate it again if they would like.

Look how the friends were working together to complete this puzzle!

Some of the friends made "block bots."  They naturally incorporated sorting, a foundational math skill, into their play.

During morning meeting we read a silly book called Skippyjon Jones.

After snack, we had fun reading with Ms. Jen.

We praise God for the nice weather today!

We found another spider on the playground!

During small group time, we played a Rhyming Bingo game with Mrs. Zwettler.

We then played a roll, count, and fill game with me.  The friends practiced quantifying, counting, and one to one correspondence in this game.

With Ms. Jen, we continued working on our creations at the creation station.

During the transition time before lunch, while everyone is washing their hands, the children read books.  They might not be able to conventionally read the books, but the friends are learning valuable concepts of print!

During Jesus time we learned that sometimes things get messed up and we make mistakes.  We learned that no matter what mistake, Jesus always loves and forgives us!

After lunch and quiet time, we went back outside to run and play.

Free choice time was a great time for our friends to practice positive conflict resolution.

After free choice time, we took a few minutes to discuss what we loved about each other.  We are working to build a community in our classroom and show God's love to each other.  I reminded the children that no matter what I will ways love them, but more importantly Jesus will always love them.

During second small group time we played the roll and count game again, but this time with marbles.  We worked as a team to fill the cup.  The children then estimated how many marbles were in the cup, and then we counted the marbles.  We are learning foundational math skills!

With Mrs. Lipsey, we played the rhyming Bingo game again.  :)
