This morning our DCE Joel Marquardt led chapel.

He shared with us that Jesus loves us so much, and He will never leave us!  He will always come and find us!

We then went to the library with out chapel buddies

After pictures and snack, Ms. Matthews came and showed us a popcorn making machine!

"How does it make the popcorn pop?"

"What are the buttons for?"

"Is it hot?"

Before we turned it on, weallowed the friends to explore the machine.  We discussed that the only reason that they could touch it now is because it is not turned on.  We reminded the friends to never touch a popcorn machine without adult permission and help.

"I hear the sizzling!"

"It's popping!"

The friends each have a bag of popcorn from the machine in their backpack to try.  :)

After making popcorn we took a walk to visit our new outdoor STEAM trail.

It's coming along!  We are excited to use it!

We then raced on the soccer field.

Free choice time

"I am making the popcorn machine.  See the circles?  Those are the wheels so that it can move."

"I am making a popcorn machine."

"The popcorn store is open!"

"I'm spinning the popcorn like the machine does."

"Can I order some rainbow popcorn?"

Making a popcorn machine in the blocks

Some other friends joined in making the popcorn machine.

"Popcorn for sale!"

During free choice time we had opportunities to learn and practice important social skills. We are practicing asking for something before grabbing it.  We are also practicing verbalizing our emotions rather than shouting.  ("That made me mad!" or "I don't like when you ..."). These important social skills will help your children throughout their lives.
