This week we are excited to celebrate the Week of the Young Child as sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. (NAEYC)

The Week of the Young Child is a celebration the early years because early years are learning years!  It is also designed to bring about awareness of the importance of quality education and care in the early years of life.

The friends were so excited to see that many of our plants have sprouted!

Outside time

Today we celebrated Music Monday of Week of the Young Child.  Mr. Kyle Borcherding, our Vicar and Worship Director, along with Mr. Joel Marquardt, our Director of Christian Education, led us in some songs!  They also showed us various instruments and how to play them.

The friends loved singing and dancing along!  Music is important to children's development.  Read HERE for more information!

Free choice time

One of the friends read a story to two friends who were "sick."  Another friend cared for the "sick" friends.  Through play, the friends are practicing empathy!

During Jesus time we learned about Palm Sunday.  Jesus rode into town on a donkey which is the symbol for peace.  Jesus brings us peace and deliverance from our sins through His death and resurrection on the cross!
