This morning our DCE Joel Marquardt led chapel.  We read Psalm 126:3 together. "The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad!"

Our Rams cheerleaders led us in a few cheers and we talked about how we can 'cheer' for God and tell of all of His goodness to us!

We checked on our plants in the greenhouse.  No sprouts yet!

We then went to our outdoor classroom.  The friends were excited to be back in our outdoor classroom!

After the outdoor classroom we took a walk to find plants and check on the sprouts we saw before spring break.  We stopped at the artificial tree by the entrance.

"Is this a real tree Mrs. Douglas?"

"Hmm...what do you think?"

"Well I think trees go outside so it is not real."

We discussed how trees can grow inside, but this particular tree is fake.  We felt the leaves and branches.  We might revisit this concept again during our project!

"The sprouts are bigger!"

"I see little tiny things on the tree!  The tree is going to bloom!"

We found a weed and pulled it up to check out the roots. We also discussed how weeds are plants too!

On the walk we found a bulb rising from the soil.  One of the questions the friends' asked is, "What is a bulb?" so we brought it to our classroom for investigation and exploration.  We then planted it in the classroom.  We will return it outside later in Spring.

Free choice time

We spent the afternoon outside enjoying the weather!
