Our last day of school is Friday, May 26th.  School for ALL pre-kindergarten students ends at 11:30 on that day.  (Extended care is available for those who need it.) We will have a special closing program at 11:00 on Friday, May 26th. All students and families are invited to attend!

During Jesus time this morning we learned about Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came down in tongues of fire! We learned Matthew 28:19 which tells us to go and make disciples of all nations!

During small group time the friends cut out various items that they would take to a picnic.  They sorted the foods by the beginning sounds and placed them at the appropriate table.  (For example: corn went on the C table)  This activity increases beginning sound awareness as well as letter/sound correlation.  Both are very important pre-reading skills.

The friends then played a matching game.  They worked to match numbers and their quantities.

With Mrs. Zwettler, the friends created a pattern!

Outside time

(It's not raining!  Yay!)

During free choice some of the friends continued to make patterns.

Others worked together in the blocks

During morning meeting we played a game where each friend held a letter.  When I said the letter's sound, the friends "swam" their fish up to me.

Second free choice

Second outside

We then played a fishing game to help recognize letter and their sounds!
