Happy Friday!

Look! We have twins in our class! :)

This morning we acted out the story of Peter in jail.

Every kindergarten student here at Our Shepherd Lutheran School writes and illustrates their own book and presents it to family members and the entire school.  It was a great pleasure to see and hear my former students put beginning, middle and ending sounds together to construct written words, all while creating comprehensive stories.  How rewarding to also see them actually reading their stories from the printed words.  Our early childhood classrooms work together on building upon strong foundations that include emergent literacy, imagination and socialization.  These skills were crucial for the successful program today.

We then went outside.

Then, the 1st graders showed us their mini Indy cars!  This is another fun thing friends continuing at Our Shepherd can look forward to!

Free choice time

After rest we went to Mrs. Hedges room to check out her baby chicks!

We then attended another a Mini Indy hosted by the first grade.

Introducing the racers and their cars

The fourth grade sang to begin the race.

And they're off!

The winner kissed a brick and drank milk just like in the Indy 500.
