Happy Mother's Day!  I pray that you were all able to spend some time celebrating over the weekend.

During Jesus time we learned about the time Peter was put into jail for speaking of Jesus' death and resurrection.  We learned that an angel led him out of jail right in front of the guards!  We learned that sometimes we forget to trust in God and pray to Him when we have problems. We also learned that our powerful God cares for us and has rescued us from sin, death, and the devil through His death and resurrection on the cross.

During small group time we used creative thinking, problem solving, and persistence to build with cups and craft sticks.

With Mrs. Zwettler we played a Roll, Say, Take game to increase the ability to subitize, decompose numbers, and one to one correspondence.  These are all important foundational math skills.

With me, the friends increased phonemic awareness as we played a game called, "Do these words start the same?"  Reseach shows that students with strong phonemic awareness skills are successful readers!

Outside time

The friends helped each other on the swings!

We found a ladybug too!

Free choice time

Second outside time

Our 8th grade buddies came to play with us!

During small group time we wrote in our journals.

We responded to music by coloring fast or slow.

We played roll, say, take with Mrs. Zwettler.
