What do you notice?

"I see the bumps!"

"The bumps mean it is rotten."

"No - the bumps are just bumps.  Rotten parts have holes."

Chapel time! We love our chapel buddies.

Mr. Borcherding led our chapel today.  He shared with us that Jesus washes all of our sins away!  He loves us and forgives us every time we sin!

Library time with our chapel buddies

We noticed that four of the friends are wearing stripes!  This led to a discussion about the word similar.  We discussed that similar means kind of the same, but kind of different.

Outside time

We read this book together.  It reminded us of Mrs. Helmkamp's class that planted trees on our playground area.  The friends discussed allowing their class to borrow the book.  We brought it over to Mrs. Helmkamp to read with her friends.

How much does a pumpkin weigh?

"Im writing all of the numbers.  I see lots of numbers."

Writing books

Our friends are readers!  They enjoy reading the poems on our shared reading board.

Together we reviewed the letters in our alphabet.  The friends had many words that they wanted to add to the alphabet!

"We need to use smaller paper!  There is no room!"

So we did!  We will continue to add words to our alphabet throughout the year.  I encourage you to point out letters and words when you are reading with your child at home.
