We began our day in the gym.  We had a dance party and practiced throwing and catching balls.

During small group time we made letter and plant words.

The friends worked to complete the sticker puzzles they have been working on.

They also recorded videos for each other for our plant movie!

Free choice time

The friends wanted to continue recording each other during free choice time.  We made a sign up sheet so they friends could all have a turn if they wanted.

Recording each other provides a meaningful use of technology in our classroom.  It also increases language development as the friends question each other and explain to each other.

The friends have been working most of the week to figure out how to make a marble track.  Today many of them figured it out!  Cognitive development happens when a child figures something out and  works through their frustration.

One friend made a pattern independently!

She then worked with a friend to make a different pattern.

"This is taller than me."

"Would you like to buy some flowers?"

"I planted this flower in the soil to grow!"

Sometimes we make messes in the classroom.  The friends are learning responsibility as they clean up their own messes. They are also learning empathy and kindness as they help others clean the mess!

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of Jesus' ascension.  We learned that Jesus is always with us even when we can't see Him!
