Praise eGod for such a beautiful day today!!

During small group time the friends worked to create a representation of a weed that they found outside.  We worked to draw the friends' attention to the details in the weed.  Focusing on the details increases curiosity and asking questions.  These questions lead to further learning!

"Why are the roots muddy?"

"Why are some roots yellow and some white?"

"Why are the leaves so small?"

The friends also worked in partners to complete a sicker puzzle.  The friends practiced recognizing and matching numbers and shapes as they worked together.

During free choice time the friends were very excited to play with the marble run!

They had difficulty figuring out how to work it.  It would have been easy for me to step in and show the friends how to work it, however that would have taken away a learning experience from the friends.

Instead, I asked questions like, "What do you think those holes are for?"

"How are you going to get the marble from one hole to the next?"

This increases their critical thinking skills and confidence!

During Jesus time we learned about Jesus' ascension. We learned that even though we can't see Jesus, we know that He is with us always!
