This morning the friends were excited to share their weekend stories with each other.  They each took a turn telling one of their stories.  This not only increases expressive communication, but also helps the friends learn important social skills including taking turns and eye contact!

During small group time the friends played Chutes and Ladders with Mrs. Dhorman.  This game increases social skills including taking turns and patience.  It also supports foundational math skills including counting, one to one correspondence, and subitizing.  (Recognizing how many in a set without counting.)

With me, the fiends completed their final self portrait.  You will find them hanging in the hallway.  Please take a minute to look and see how much the friends have grown and developed over the course of the year!

Independently, the friends worked to make the balance equal.

Free choice time

The friends explore concepts of economics through play as they sell plants to each other.

Some friends chose to continue playing the game.

The friends engage in deep, rich play together.  You can identify deep, rich play as friends plan their play ("Pretend you fell...") and assign roles ("You are the dad and I am the brother....").
