We haven't had very many rainy days of school, so this morning we went outside (under the awning) and used our senses to describe the rain.

"I hear it!"

"I hear the birds too!"

"I smell the pretty flowers!"

We then went to the gym.  I had so much fun chasing the friends, I forgot to take pictures!

During morning meeting we read a book about storms and wondered if the rain would turn into a storm here?

When you read at home with your child, ask the questions at the end of the book.

Ask them:

"Who was in the story?"
"What happened in the story?"
"Where did the story take place?"

This helps increase their comprehension and develops important pre-reading skills!

During small groups we described our creations that we worked on this week!

We explored in the blocks.

We read books too!

We also counted the surveys and graphs from the other day.

We graphed our initial responses to see which had most and which had least.

Free choice time

The friends enjoy exploring with the ten frame.  Through their play, the friends are exploring important math including one to one correspondence and counting!

Puzzle work

The friends also explore important science concepts through their play.  As they explore the scale, they are exploring weight and numbers!

"How heavy is it?"

"Ten pounds!"
