Happy Thursday!

Morning free choice was busy with activity!

During morning meeting, our schedule helper led us in our alphabet.

I am working on completing some formal assessments, and we had extra free choice time so I could work with the friends one on one.  Assessments allow us to see each child's strengths and areas for growth.  It also helps us cater our activities to meet each child's unique needs.

The friends independently reviewed the alphabet during free choice time.  :)

During small group time we played the heart game that we have been working on this week.  This game increases letter recognition, letter/sound correlation, and phonemic awareness as we switch the beginning phoneme to the letter sound chosen.

Independently, the friends worked to complete various heart puzzles.

With Mrs. Zwettler, the friends practiced counting and one to one correspondence with a fun heart game!

During Jesus time we reviewed the story of the Lost Son as found in Luke 15:11-32.  We learned that sometimes we do what we want instead of what God wants us to do.  Even though we don't deserve to be called His children, our compassionate God welcomes us and forgives us!  Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can tell God we're sorry for our sins and feel relieved when we repent and are forgiven.

Second outside time

During small group time we continued practicing the letter sounds and increasing letter recognition.

Independently, the friends worked on floor puzzles.

We played the heart game with Mrs. Lipsey.
